Buggi

"Buggi" minecarts: these minecarts were used to transport the iron ore rich rocks out of the mine, via small gauge railway setups. These minecarts were locally produced, for example by companies such as Friser in Tétange or Massard in Kayl. They were only allowed to be loaded with pieces of mined rock that contained iron ore. If the foreman at the weighing station discovered regular rocks in the loaded minecart, you would not get paid: the entire "Buggi" was not counted. There were also penalties for dangerously or wrongly loaded minecarts, as falling rocks and debris could injure workers, let alone damage or block the tracks.
